This Privacy Policy explains how Daniel Pinckard (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use ShootSpot (“the Service”) at shootspotapp.com. By using ShootSpot, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
When you create an account and use ShootSpot, we collect:
When you use the Service, we automatically collect:
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
We use the information we collect to:
When you generate a session plan share link and send it to a client, the content of that plan — location names, photos, and notes you have designated as client-facing — becomes accessible to anyone with that link. You control what is included and who receives the link.
We share data with trusted third-party providers who help us operate the Service:
These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us.
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of ShootSpot, our users, or the public.
If ShootSpot is acquired, merged, or its assets are sold, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email prior to your data being transferred and subject to a different privacy policy.
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure, hosted on AWS (Amazon Web Services). We implement industry-standard security measures including:
No system is completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security and are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
ShootSpot allows you to add private notes to your locations — parking tips, personal observations, vendor contacts, and similar details. These notes are marked “Private” and are never included in client-facing session plan views. They are stored securely and are only accessible to you while logged into your account.
By using ShootSpot, you agree that we may use automated systems and artificial intelligence to organize, analyze, tag, enrich, and review your submissions — including location names, descriptions, photos, and notes — for the purpose of improving search functionality, generating location recommendations, moderating content, and enhancing the overall user experience.
AI processing may be performed by ShootSpot directly or through trusted third-party AI service providers. Such providers are contractually prohibited from using your content to train their own models or for any purpose beyond the specific services they provide to us.
AI-generated enrichments (such as suggested tags or descriptions) are supplemental and do not replace your own notes or settings. You remain in control of your content and can edit or remove any AI-generated additions at any time.
ShootSpot uses cookies and similar technologies to:
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@shootspotapp.com. We will respond within 30 days.
You may delete your account at any time from your Profile settings. Deleting your account removes your personal information, locations, photos, and session plans from our active systems. Some data may be retained in backups for up to 90 days before permanent deletion.
If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have additional rights under GDPR or UK GDPR. Our legal basis for processing your data is your consent (where applicable) and the performance of our contract with you. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we have not handled your data appropriately.
ShootSpot is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at hello@shootspotapp.com and we will delete it promptly.
ShootSpot is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using ShootSpot, you consent to this transfer.
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this document and notify you via email or an in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
